Ludovico
I arrived at Cristian`s house: it have 2 floor and an attic where is my room.
There are a lot of room: 3 bedroom,2 bathroom and one kitchen.
When I arrived I met his father Lorrein and his mother Eva : his parents are very friendly and easy to talk. The father doesn`t know the English but I can understand because he talk with me in french.
For the dinner we eat a strange kind of soup and a lot of vegetables.
I think that the Dutch people have some strange costumes like: go by bicycle everywhere and eat peanuts butter for breakfast but they are very courteous.
Gabriele
When I arrived at Michael`s housed I didn`t have a time for a rest, because Michael wanted to play basketball with Sjors (partner of Francesco) and their friends. Michael is very strong!. After that, we returned home, I hoped to rest, but Michael wanted to play football with Sjors, and after, with them, we had a Chinese dinner
In the evening we went to play football with Matteo, Cristiano, Mancini, Stefano, Bussi and our partners.
I think that the Dutch boys are very different from the Italian boys because they live in a small city and in a small country: most of them haven`t a Playstation, they go everywhere with bicycles and have a lunch and dinner very early.

We gave to parents the presents from Rome, they liked them so much.
In the afternoon we met some ours friends and we visited the city and during visiting we saw too many bikes.
We were surprised. It was a new reality for us, but more fun!
Breda is more peaceful than Rome, there aren’t many cars, and the organisation of streets is more efficient than Rome, in fact it`s cleaner.
Viola ate a traditional Dutch food like vegetables without flavouring and meat, instead Roberta ate Chinese food, cause the family is Chinese.
Today we got up at 6:00,and at 8:30 we arrived at school with ours bikes.

LIVIA & VALENTINA`S IMPRESSIONS
VALENTINA: Katy`s house (katy is my partner) is a bit far from the school, it is in the forest and I have to cycle 30 minutes every morning. Her house is smaller than mine, but it isn’t a problem. We sleep in her room together, I think her room is the most beautiful room in her house. Her parents and one of her sisters live with her, because the other sister lives in own house. She has 1 dog, Moe, 2 turtles and 2 cats. They usually have dinner at 6:30p.m. and they usually eat meat, vegetables and cheese. After dinner she sometimes watches TV and chats by MSN. At about 10 o’clock she usually goes to bed. We woke up at 7 o’clock, we washed ourselves and then we have breakfast.
LIVIA: Whitney’s house isn’t very far from school and I have to cycle to school for 20 minutes. In 4 days I will go to school by scooter because she’s going to have the license. When I arrived to her house I had a good impression because she lives in a quiet place and her house is really cute. It’s smaller then mine but it has two floors: on the first one there`s the kitchen, the living room and the dining room. On the second floor there are the bedrooms and the bathroom. Only one thing is a little bit strange: the W.C. isn’t in the bathroom but it is in a room on the first floor. We had dinner at 7 o’clock but they told me that they usually have dinner at 5:30/6:00 p.m.. Her family is composed by her parents and her younger sister.
24/05: Yesterday we went to Madurudam and we liked it very much. It was cool because we saw every part of Holland (in miniature) and because the weather was beautiful so we had so much fun. After that we went to Den Haag and we saw the house of Parliament and then we visited the Mauritshuis museum. Before we left we went to the Hague Historical museum. We arrived at De Nassau school very late and then we went to a pancake restaurant. We think pancakes are good but the Dutch people have them for dinner and we think that they are just a dessert. Then we went to a pub and we saw the Champions league final between Milan Vs Liverpool.
TRIP TO NETHERLANDS
22.05.2007
We left Rome at twelve a.m. and we arrived at Eindhoven airport at about 2 p.m., we got off the plane and we spent an hour to go to our partners’ school by coach.
We left school and we went to their home.
Sam, Ludovica’s partner, lives not so far from school,we have to ride bike to go to. She lives with her family, composed by her father, her step mother, her two younger brothers. She has a room just for her and there is the bed for me. She has also a dog,a cat,and a rabbit. I met also some of her friends, they were very nice, and very curious, and they asked to me a lot of things about Italian life, and about Rome. I spoke to her about our weeks here, she told me what we’re going to do in this period. Her family is very nice. I think I’ll have a very good time here.
Nicole is Giulia’s partner, she has a big house. It has two floors and a small swimming pool too. Her family is composed by her mother, father and a brother and a sister older than her who don’t live with her. I met only her mother, and she’s very nice.
I have a bedroom only for me with a very big bed!!! She also has a small dog and it’s very nice with me. We have to go to school by bicycle, but this morning I came by car because I fell down the bicycle .Nicole told me that in the next week-end we ,with also Valentina and Livia and their partners, will go sailing. I’m looking for it.
24.05.2007
Yesterday we went to Den Haag. We left school at 9.00 and we went first Madurudam, where there are all Dutch cities …but they’re small!! We liked it so much because we can see all the most important monuments and buildings and now we can recognise them when we see them in the reality.
Then we arrived to Den Haag we did a tour in the city, we saw the Houses of Parliament, and then we took a break to eat. After that we visited two museums: the Mauritshuis museum, and the Hague historical museum. In the first one we had to look for two pictures which we liked.
We came back to school late and we went out for dinner because of Enrico’s birthday.
We ate a typical Dutch food: pancakes, they’re like crepes. Then we went to watch the football’s final of Champions League.

The Diary of Anne Frank
The diary of Anne Frank is so passionate and interesting because it describes the real life condition in WWII
I think "The Diary of Anne Frank" is a very important book. It describes the life of Anne Frank a young Jew girl forced to hide for three years during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. That book helps to understand the real meaning of Nazi persecution and not to forget those horrible years.
The Diary of Anne Frank is a book which surprises and awakens the reader, because he catchs the Anne's live wish, but in the final part of this book who reads will discover the sad real life.
I liked a lot the love story of Anne and Peter, which was born despite the war.
I knew how solders lived during the war but this book was useful to know how the people lived.
For me this book is very interesting because it’s a real story.
It’s important to remember the story of Anne Frank because all people have the right to live in freedom.
(Guglielmo Bruno, Viola Vincenzini, Roberta Blundo, Andrea Mottinelli ed Eleonora Boncompagni)
This book is very interesting because tell about a girl of 14 who is a Jew and is forced to go with her family from Germany to the Netherlands because in that time was the WW2.
The diary of Ann Frank reports the dramatic persecution of the Jews people during the Second World War.
The diary completely changes your point of view about the persecution of Jews people.
I like this book because it talks about the real life of people who lived in that time, the opinions and the fears of the little Ann Frank.
(Silvia Affinita, Edoardo Bartoli, Stefano Pane, Francesco Bastia)
had been imposed silence.
This book is very important to let us know how hard life was during the WWII .
I really liked that book because it explained to me how a girl of my age used to live in WWII.
I think Anna isn’t very different from me because she’s just a teen-ager who wants to became an adult as soon as possible. The book finishes like the life of jews in that period who were deported to lagers. In fact they had to interrupt their life.

Villa D'Este
The Villa d'Este is the most famous of all the Renaissance and Mannerist residences in Europe. It is not that much bigger or more luxurious than the Villa Lante, not that much more stunning than Bomarzo. It is perhaps because of the famous guests who resided at the Villa d'Este.
In the 19th century, the Cardinal of Hohenzollern allowed his best friend to stay there. This friend was Franz Liszt.
Liszt would come to Tivoli regularly, over a period of four years. There, he has composed the famous "Jeux d'Eaux à la Villa d'Este".
During the 18th century, Hubert Robert and Fragonard have accompanied the Abbot of Saint-Nom on his Italian voyage. These two artists were made the most beautiful drawings to be found of the countryside.
A century earlier, de Brosse wrote his most vibrant letters on Italian taste while residing there. Naturally, Montaigne visited the Villa d'Este. The Villa d'Este was commissioned and built by Cardinal Ippolito d'Este. The other artists are Thomaso Chiruchi, the best hydraulic engineer of the 16th century, and Claude Venard, the most extraordinary manufacturer of hydraulic organs in the world, has worked for the fountain.
Here has worked also three very good painters like Federico Zuccaro, Livio Agresti and Girolaio Luchiano.
Tivoli is very near Rome. The countryside is beautiful. In the countryside of Tivoli there is a big park where had lived the emperor Adriano: “Villa Adriana”.

Historia Augusta
1.Post haec profectus in Gallias omnes civitates variis liberalibus sublevavit.2.Inde in Germaniam transiit pacisque magis quam belli cupidus militem, quasi bellum inmineret, exercuit tolerantiae documentis eum imbuens, ipse quoque inter manipula vitam militarem magistrans, cibis etiam castrensibus in propatulo libenter utens, hoc est larido, caseo et posca, exemplo Scipionis aemiliani et Metelli et auctoris sui Traiani, multos praemiis, nonnullos honoribus donans, ut ferre possent ea, que asperius iubebat;3.Si quidem ipse post Caesarem Octavianum labantem disciplinam in curiam superiorum principum retinuit ordinatis et officiis et inpendiis, numquam passus aliquem a castris iniustes abesse, cum tribunos non favor militum, sed iustitia comendaret,

Palazzo Farnese
Palazzo Farnese is a prominent High Renaissance building in Rome, which currently houses the French Embassy in Italy."The most imposing Italian building of the sixteenth century", according to Sir Banister Fletcher, this palace was designed by Antonio da Sangallo (1484-1546). Construction began in 1517, commissioned by Alessandro Farnese, who had been appointed as a Cardinal in 1493 at age 25 . Work was interrupted by the sack of Rome in 1527. The building was redesigned in 1534 and 1541, modified under Mic
helangelo after Sangallo's death in 1546 onwards, adjusted for the papal nephew Ranuccio Farnese by Vignola . Several main rooms were frescoed with elaborate allegorical programs including a series of frescoes on Hercules, and The Loves of the Gods by Annibale Carracci. For generations the room with Herculean frescoes (Sala d'Ercole) housed the famous sculpture from Greco-Roman antiquity known as the Farnese Hercules. Other works from the family collection of classical sculpture were also housed in the building. The Palazzo Farnese houses the great library of the Ecole Française de Rome, concentrating especially on the archeology of Italy and medieval Papal history.Reggia di Caserta

The Palace of Caserta, in Italian Reggia di Caserta, is a royal palace in Caserta, near Naples, built for the Borbone kings of Naples. It was the largest palace and probably the largest building erected in Europe in the eighteenth century. In 1996, the Palace of Caserta was listed among the World Heritage Sites on the grounds that it was "the swan song of the spectacular art of the Baroque, from which it adopted all the features needed to create the illusions of multidirectional space".
The construction of the palace was begun in 1752 for Charles VII of Naples, who worked closely with his architect Luigi Vanvitelli. When Charles saw Vanvitelli's grandly-scaled model for Caserta it filled him with emotion "fit to tear his heart from his breast". In the end, he never slept a night at the Reggia, as he resigned from the throne in 1759 to become King of Spain, and the project was carried to completion for his third son and successor, Ferdinand IV of Naples.

Parties with Dutch students

Halloween Party
The 31st of October we had a Halloween party at Valentina’s house in Piazza Vescovio with the Dutch partners. The party started at 8:30 p.m and we bought the food.
We decorated the house with some candles to make a scary atmosphere.
We danced and we had a lot of fun.
Good-bye Party
The 4th of November, the day before their departure, we organized a goodbye party for the days that we spent with the Dutch partners . This time we had the party at the Livia’s Boy Scout headquarters.
The place was more larger and we organized in a different way about the food, in fact everyone brought from own house something to eat or to drink. The music was a meeting’s point for us and the Dutch students, in particular three songs:
“Hey baby” of Dj Oetzi, “Here without you” and “Away from the sun” of three doors down.

Villa Adriana
Adrian had a good education by Hellenistic teachers since his young age, instead he was interested in oriental, classic and Greek cultures.
For these reasons he decided to built the villa in classical style with a lot of statues, columns, mosaics and a lot of other things.
The buildings materials are manly marble, terracotta bricks and there are a lot of pools.
Villa Adriana is valuated from UNESCO a human patrimony since 1999.
